Our 25th Anniversary
The Brewster Theater Company is celebrating our 25th Anniversary in 2025! Our milestone year has us reflecting on our many past accomplishments and a new path forward.
Our 2024 season was our best and brightest. We produced six main stage productions, including a weekend of original work from around the country. Over 3,000 people from 120 cities and towns attended our shows and were supported by over two hundred actors, stagehands, musicians, and volunteers. Our Social Media pages and website receive over 35,000 views monthly.
Our 2025 Goal - A new and long-term home!
BTC has operated out of Drew Methodist for the past seven years and due to a substantial increase in the rent, it is no longer economical to operate out of that venue. This, coupled with our explosive growth in programs and volunteers, have motivated us to pursue a long-term lease or purchase in the area. Brewster Theater is committed to remaining in the Brewster, Patterson and Carmel area. Our exit from Drew will be on December 31, 2025.
To help us fund our new home we have started a “Raise the Curtain” Capital Campaign. Our goal is to raise $500,000 over the next five years, with $150,000 by February, 2025. The support has been amazing, and as of December 31, 2024 we have raised over $116,000.
Brewster Theater is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit and is operated by a board of volunteers. Every dollar will support our programming and capital program and any donation will make a difference!
Our 2025 Season
Our 2025 season will continue to build on our success. It will include six main-stage productions as well as new workshops and the continuation of our Children’s Theater Workshop. It is an exciting time in our theater!
Brewster Theater Company is the only mainstage production, year-round community theater in eastern Putnam County. We provide hundreds of volunteers a place to get out, meet people, and establish meaningful relationship with each other and the arts - changing many lives! We have substantial following of retirees who pitch in and have found a place to come together, as well as a growing community of neurodiverse volunteers. Everyone pitches in to create shows that include beautiful sets and costumes.with elaborate technical detail and staging. We hire wonderful orchestras to play for our musical productions. Each production is inspiring and thought-provoking.
Sponsoring a show or a season is a great way to leverage your brand. Our high-quality performances attract audience members from all areas of Putnam County, as well as Westchester, Dutchess, and Connecticut. Our shows will promote your business all year long!
Our 100-seat auditorium had many sold-out performances and runs in 2025. Your advertisement would immediately acknowledge that you support the arts and the many volunteers in our productions.
We are always excited to bring live theater to Putnam County, but our mission is not possible without sponsors. Our dedicated volunteers spend thousands of hours annually creating our shows, however, our expenses are many and familiar, including rent, equipment leases, repairs, musicians, and many more. A typical show can cost $15,000, and musicals often exceed $25,000. Our ticket prices remain a great value for our community and are kept at affordable levels with the assistance of many valuable sponsors.
